the proposal
can you measure the furniture,
lay out ruru, a big bashful bunny—
move the studying desk over here,
and the pc next to the window?
~
he blends well into the couch, you see,
that i hand-picked for you, first,
then ruru, then myself, in this order.
~
can you carve out a portion of my heart
to leave it with you at all times,
not minding my space, not minding
the desire for me to be present.
~
most of the times i am farther away —
a foreign town, or somewhere in a cubicle,
sometimes in my own head,
at various points, but never at home.
~
i am schizophrenic in that sense, homeless
most of the time, wishing for something
i need to create, with the material i have.
~
i have many, and need to start using them,
laying out the furniture, pushing the carpet into place,
then, the great instrument to the heart: my love.
the spark of the house, will you let me live here,
~
a place i set up, a place to call our home,
so i can finally give the homeless guy
some safe space he can fall back on?
there is so much space left and occupied that my home needs space for, as i wish to replace this material with home
